About Rusangu University

In Rusangu University grounds, you will find the Musangu tree from which the name Rusangu is derived. This historic place was pioneered by the great American missionary and teacher, W. H. Anderson in 1903. The roots of the Adventist work in Zambia are deeply embedded at Rusangu Mission. The vision of Anderson gave birth to Rusangu University which opened its doors in May 2003. Rusangu University has distinguished itself as one of the pioneering private Universities in Zambia registered with the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The programs on offer are accredited by different bodies, local and international.

Bachelor of Arts with Education (BA Ed) in the following:

Admission Requirements
BA Ed/BSc Ed Students must possess a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credits or better including English Language. BSc Ed students must additionally possess Mathematics and any Science.

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in the following:
1. BSc Environmental Health
2. BSc Nursing
3. BSc Biomedical Sciences

Admission Requirements
1. BSc Nursing: A minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credits or better including English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Science and any other two.
2. BSc Environmental Health/BSc Biomedical Sciences: A minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credits or better which include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics/Chemistry/Science and any other.

Bachelor of Arts in the following:
1. BA Psychology
2. BA Journalism and Communication
3. BA Music
4. BA Peace and Conflict Resolution
5. BA Social Work
6. BA Sociology

Admission Requirements
A minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credits including English Language.


Bachelor of Science (BSc) in the following:

5. Master of Science in Agriculture with Education
6. Post Graduate Diploma in Education
Admission Requirements
1. For PhD: Must have completed Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education or any other related field.
2. For Masters: Must have completed Bachelors degree in Education or any other related field.
